Remembering Dad

Hard to believe March 6th marked four years since I lost my Dad. Two years after he died we finally got official closure that he died of vCJD (Variant Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease). We always knew it was CJD but during the autopsy it was found that Dad was missing some bands that make up a protein part and they were trying to determine the significance of that missing band. We still do not have closure on the significance of that missing band but they will continue to research as new information becomes available.

March 9th would have been his 64th birthday. Olivia was sad when I told her it was Grandpa Mose's birthday because she could not give him a card. She said she would have to wait until she saw him in Heaven. So instead she made him a card and we attached it to mommy's birthday balloons and let it go up to Heaven so God could give it to Grandpa Mose right now! It was very sweet!

If anyone is interested in learning more about CJD, or looking for a tax-free charity to donate to, please check out the link to the CJD Website I have at the top right of this blog. It will be wonderful when they some day find a cure, or at the very least a cause, to help other families from losing loved ones in such a quick and tragic way.
